When I am not studying for the rigorous IB curriculum or working on my community projects, I am always seeking out the next adventure. From diving into the depths of the ocean to skydiving from 15,000 feet, zip-lining across Africa's longest gorge, and river rafting in crocodile-infested waters, I have done it all. My dream is to one day conquer Everest, and I hope to start with the Everest Base Camp trek after my final IB exams.

School cultural dance showcase Kahaani

For four years, I participated in Kahaani, an annual cultural dance showcase at my school that celebrates Indian heritage while supporting a meaningful cause. Organized by Kolkata GC, Kahaani raises awareness for "Voice of World," an organization assisting mentally and physically disabled women and children in Kolkata. Each year, Kahaani highlights a social issue; in 2021, we focused on the Disabilities Rights Movement in India, dancing to songs from Indian movies that positively portray differently-abled individuals. The showcase let me connect deeply with my heritage, offering a creative platform to honor my roots and promote meaningful change.

Being part of Kahaani each year enriched my high school experience, allowing me to express my culture through movement and community. The diverse choreography and powerful messages behind each performance not only strengthened my sense of identity but also opened up discussions on inclusivity and disability rights. Through Kahaani, I found a way to celebrate my Indian heritage in a space where my peers and I could raise awareness and amplify voices that need to be heard.
