Deij Club (co-founder)

Motivated by my personal experiences with microaggressions and the desire for genuine inclusion, I co-founded the Diversity, Equity, Inclusivity, and Justice (DEIJ) focus group at my school. This initiative aimed to create a safe space where students from diverse backgrounds could come together to share their experiences and challenge unconscious biases. Through engaging discussions and provocative questions displayed around our school, we encouraged dialogue on topics like reverse racism and the impact of skin color on rights within our community. This group not only fostered a sense of belonging among its members but also empowered them to embrace their identities fully. By championing these conversations, we aimed to ensure that the school’s promises of acceptance went beyond mere slogans, making inclusivity a lived reality for everyone.
